Digital Design (Foundations)

2D Animation Assignments

Digital Design explores all elements of digital media design.

Below are attached files of animations students have created in my class. All animations were created using Adobe Flash software. The progression of topics in Flash begins with simple keyframes and tweens, moves into more complex motions, and is followed by embedded timelines and sound. Students are typically assigned a simple 15 second shape tween animation, followed by a 15 second advertisement for the web, and their final piece, which is approximately a minute long, includes sound with the freedom to create an animation that illustrates and aligns with their own artistic interests.

Students’ final project, a long animation, rounds off a diverse portfolio created in my classroom; a portfolio containing no less than nine digital projects representing minimally three software programs, all created in a single foundations course.
